Born on December 22, 1995, and in August 2018, Imam-ul-Haq was among the 33 players awarded a central contract by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for the 2018–19 season. His domestic career highlights include a remarkable score of 200 not out for Habib Bank Limited in the 2016–17 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy final and a crucial innings of 59 not out for Lahore Blues in the 2017–18 National T20 Cup final.

The cricketer extended his reach to English county cricket when he joined Somerset for the final four matches of the County Championship in July 2022.

In the international arena, his ODI debut showcased his talent as he scored a century against Sri Lanka in October 2017, earning him the man of the match title. He continued to make significant contributions, including a half-century in his Test debut against Ireland in May 2018.
