He lost the opportunity to play more because of his lack of self-control off the field. Cipriani scored the Rebels’ first points with a penalty kick against the Brumbies in the Rebels’ second-ever Super Rugby match.

It was confirmed in February 2016 that Cipriani will return to the Wasps for the 2016–17 campaign. Cipriani joins Gloucester Rugby for the 2018–19 season after spending two seasons at Wasps.
