In 2001, while pursuing an engineering degree at Vanderbilt University, he dropped out to pursue a career in music and subsequently signed a contract with Sea Gayle Music to write and publish his music.

Stapleton’s songs have appeared on many artists’ albums including Adele, Kelly Clarkson, Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley, and Taylor Swift. He was part of two bands, the SteelDrivers, and the Jompson Brothers before he started recording as a solo artist.

His debut solo studio album, Traveller reached number one on the US Billboard 200 and was certified four times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Stapleton is a recipient of several awards including eight Grammy Awards, 10 Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards, and 14 Country Music Association (CMA) Awards. He was named the ACM’s Artist-Songwriter of the Decade.

In February 2023, Chris Stapleton made headlines after delivering a stellar performance at the 2023 Super Bowl which was held on Sunday, February 12 at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

Before the highly anticipated match between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles officially kicked off at the 2023 Super Bowl, the singer took centerstage to perform his rendition of the American National Anthem.
