Hull was born in Kettering, Northamptonshire in the United Kingdom to Basienka Hull and Dave Hull. She has two half-sisters from both parents.

Hull started playing golf at the age of two at the Kettering Golf Club with her father. At age 13, she began homeschooling herself and began competing in amateur events.

Hull began her career on January 1, 2013. Following the Lalla Meryem Cup, South African Women’s Open, Turkish Airlines Ladies Open, Deloitte Ladies Open, and a loss in a playoff at the UniCredit Ladies German Open, she won five straight second-place results on the Ladies European Tour after making her professional debut in March 2013.

She earned just under €135,995 in fifteen official events and was sixth on the Ladies European Tour Order of Merit with five further top-ten finishes.

Hull made a successful start on the tour, earning her the 2013 LET Rookie of the Year award, the Sports Journalists’ Association’s Best International Newcomer award, and the Peter Wilson Trophy at the SJA British Sports Awards.

Hull finished second to 16-year-old swimmer Josef Craig on the BBC’s Young Sports Personality of the Year shortlist.

Hull, who is the youngest player in the history of the competition, was chosen by Liselotte Neumann, the captain of the European Solheim Cup, in August 2013 to participate in the 2013 Solheim Cup.

With a final score of 18-10, the team became the first European Solheim team to triumph on American land. Hull scored two points, beating Paula Creamer in the singles match 5 and 4. Hull’s performance was afterwards commended by Neumann.

Hull won her maiden professional championship on March 16, 2014, four days before turning 18 years old, at the Lalla Meryem Cup in Morocco.

Hull won the first event of the Rose Ladies Series in the United Kingdom in June 2020, when all major golf tours were suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and finished second in the series finale in early August to surpass Georgia Hall in the rankings.

She missed the halfway cut at the AIG Women’s Open, the year’s first major, in late August after the tours resumed.

She was required to withdraw from the second major of the year in September after testing positive for COVID-19 during pre-tournament testing for the ANA Inspiration. She tied for seventh place at the Women’s PGA Championship in October.
