An American graphic designer by the name of Burkey Belser, he died on September 25, 2023. His work on the U.S. Nutrition Facts Label is what made him most famous.

All packaged foods in the US must bear the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-mandated food labeling system, which has been dubbed “the most frequently reproduced graphic in the world.”

The Legal Marketing Association honored him with its Lifetime Achievement Award and inducted him into its Hall of Fame for his groundbreaking work in legal advertising, for which he is also well-known.

One of nine judges for the Communication Arts Design Annual 2007, widely regarded as the most prominent graphic design competition in the country, was Belser.
